ABOUT DJ

Debra “DJ” Horn, LPC, PT, LMT CST

dj-headshot-2-smallGuided by her belief in the endless potential within all of us and supported by dedicated study and experience, DJ has created a practice embracing the many dimensions of human experience.

DJ Horn is a highly skilled therapist with over 30 years of bodywork experience. She is currently licensed by the State of Connecticut in Professional Counseling, Physical Therapy and Massage Therapy. She is a Certified Craniosacral Therapist from the Upledger Institute. DJ is also a Level II graduate of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy of the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.

From a very young age, I understood the importance and effects of placing my hands on the body. Through my hands and heart I was able to clearly “see” the origins of pain and dysfunction in the body. My life from that point on has constantly been evolving; I’ve added massage therapy, physical therapy, craniosacral therapy and counseling. I believe healing is multidimensional and often includes singing, dancing, laughing, crying, etc. I have an extensive history teaching anatomy & physiology and pathology, which have greatly strengthened my ability to address the physical lesions; however, my true strength lies in my ability to address the emotional and spiritual aspects of the person. I believe it is seldom “one thing” that impedes function, contributes to pain or interferes with quality of life; rather it is the compounding effects of the undissipated and unresolved life forces that are manifested in the physical tissues of the body. I understand the interconnectedness of the body and the emotional being. Communication with patients is integral to a successful clinic. I address each patient as an individual and discuss treatment applications and outcomes at an appropriate level for each patient. I hold a space of respect and integrity so that each patient can get his or her needs met on many levels. Amazing Results. Endless Possibilities. Let the journey begin.Save

Integrated Physical Therapy has been treating my whole family for years.  DJ is masterful at identifying and healing body aches/sprains using hands-on, direct contact that is gentle, relaxing and effective. She genuinely cares for her clients, listens attentively, and offers suggestions for at-home exercises or interventions that support her work.  The entire office staff provides a warm, comfortable and helpful atmosphere.  I am personally blessed to have IPT keep my family healthy and active.
